Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the questions we're most commonly asked about Simply BLS training.

What does BLS training cover?

Our BLS training covers the essential skills and knowledge needed to respond to a cardiac arrest and other life-threatening emergencies. Depending on the course, this may include CPR, use of an AED and anaphylaxis awareness.

Where does the training take place?

Simply BLS can provide training at your work place or community venue.

For workplace or group bookings, we may be able to deliver training at your premises, subject to suitable facilities and trainer availability.

Do you offer training for individuals?

Yes. We offer training for individuals as well as businesses and organisations.

Please contact us and we'll be happy to discuss your requirements.

Do you provide workplace or group training?

Yes. We can provide training for businesses, healthcare teams, community groups and other organisations.

For larger groups, please contact us to discuss your requirements and obtain a quotation.

How many people can attend a course?

The maximum number of participants depends on the course, venue and available equipment.

For group bookings, we'll confirm the appropriate number of participants when arranging your training.

Do I need any previous experience?

No. Our courses are designed to teach the relevant skills from the ground up, so previous BLS experience is not normally required unless stated otherwise for a particular course.

What should I wear?

Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely.

As practical CPR training involves kneeling and working at floor level, comfortable trousers and suitable footwear are recommended.

Is the training practical?

Yes. BLS training includes practical skills practice, so participants will have the opportunity to practise techniques using appropriate training equipment.

Do I have to perform CPR on the floor?

Practical CPR training normally involves practising on a training manikin on the floor.

If you have an accessibility requirement or are unable to kneel or perform a particular practical activity, please contact us before your course so we can discuss reasonable adjustments.

What happens if I have a disability or accessibility requirement?

Please let us know when booking, or contact us before your course.

We will do our best to make reasonable adjustments and ensure that you can participate safely and comfortably.

What happens if I am pregnant or have another physical condition?

If you have any concerns about participating in the practical elements of the course, please contact us before booking or attending.

We can discuss the practical requirements and any reasonable adjustments that may be appropriate.

Will I receive a certificate?

A certificate of attendance will be issued with 48 hours of completing the training session. In most instances this will be issued electronically.

How long is my certificate valid for?

Certificates are issued for attendance. If training is mandatory for employment, please refer to your employer for details.

Your certificate will provide the relevant validity information where applicable.

What happens if I don't pass the assessment?

Our course does not issue a pass or fail. Certificates are issued for attendance.

Our cancellation charges are:

  • 7 days or more before training: No charge
